Editorial Policy

How SpotCalc creates, reviews, and updates its precious metals content for accuracy and usefulness.

Our standard

SpotCalc publishes practical, accurate information about valuing gold, silver, and platinum. Our goal is to help dealers, jewelers, and consumers understand how metal value is calculated - clearly and without hype.

How content is created and reviewed

Guides and calculator pages are written to reflect widely accepted standards for purity, units, and pricing (for example, troy-ounce conversions and karat-to-percentage values). Figures used in worked examples are clearly labeled as illustrative, while live calculations always use current spot prices.

We review pages when standards, defaults, or methods change, and we date each page with its last update.

Accuracy and corrections

If you find an error - a wrong purity value, an outdated figure, or an unclear explanation - we want to fix it. Report issues through our Contact page and we will review and correct verified problems promptly.

Independence

Educational content is kept separate from any commercial relationships. Where we mention products, tools, or dealers, it is to inform the reader, not as paid placement unless clearly disclosed.
